I’m upgrading the Community site and it will be unavailable for a short bit.

Update: Everything is updated and working smoothly. Let me know if you see any problems.

A little downtime

Looks like there’s something going wrong right now. I’ll check it out and update in a few.

UPDATE: looks like everything was down for about 20 minutes. Support folks made some Apache config changes to help keep this from happening again.

Sites are coming back up

Looks like there was a little downtime just now, but everything is on it’s way back up.

UPDATE: Looks like while I was sleeping away, there was about a 20 minute outage. Here’s what the support people have to say: “The server hung at crond and was having problems with that. I also saw some disk errors. Nothing definitive at this point but we are still monitoring your server.” So alrighty then ;)

Upgrading wordpress

I’m updating the blog and the gallery to the latest version of wordpress. After I do that, I’ll be updating the gallery submission form – if all goes well, things might look strange for only a few minutes.

Update: took 10 minutes, and it all seems fine now. Let me know if you notice any problems.

‘Popular’ bars

The Popular bars (which show what’s recently popular) are back on the Gallery and the Blog. I had to take them down for several days because the underlying service I use to count page views went all crazy on me, but everything seems to be OK now. Let me know if you see weird behavior in the bars and I’ll investigate further.

Why tryhandmade.wordpress.com?

If any of the Try Handmade sites are down, you’ll be able to come here to find out why. It’s on wordpress.com so that it can be completely independent and be up all the time.

In an ideal world, I’d never write another post here after this one, but somehow I don’t think that’s too likely!
